YOURSELF."
-Br. John
Br. John's shares in Flo Goodson's (of the Westport Golden Age Club) 103rd birthday celebration. Last year, Kansas City, MO. issued her a special proclaimation as the community's oldest social/neighborhood activist volunteer.
Flo made Br. John promise, that he would sing at her 104 birthday party, later this year. She enthusiastically said she plans "to live to be 110 years old!" We pray she will indeed, achieve her goal.
P.S. Flo just recently gave up her driving license and sold her car a year and a half ago. Amazing!
No, it's not a fake! A real live, full adult alligator (along with a few other exotic pets) recently came to visit the Westport Roanoke Community Center of Kansas City, MO.

With a little help, compliments of educator, zoologist, entertainer, Ken "the alligator man" Henderson. For more about Ken and his traveling zoo. Check your tv schedule for his upcoming 'Animal Planet' reality-documentary special. Or, you can visit him at: www.youtube.com/kenhendersonalligatorman

Born in 1906, can you imagine what incredible things she has seen and experienced in her lifetime? Plus, she still continues to enjoy serving others-even at her own party!

Perched above is a real, live, three year old alligator. Though he's also the pet of Ken "the Alligator Man". Like any pet, they will still bite, given the ideal, or condition situation. It's just inate instinct. So, we were informed after our baked chicken dinner to "thoroughly wash your hands. Reptiles also love the smell and taste of greasy, chicken fingers too!"

I guess I'm now an official "gator head."

Another one of the 'Alligator Man's friends.
*Did you know, in the skull, on top of the iguana's head, is a small organ (sort of like a radar device) that can sense and alert this animal if there is an approaching bird of prey (or any presence of danger) within hundreds of feet away?

The month of February-2010 was busy showcasing the debut tour of "Songs Of The Black Pioneers".
Here am I, at the Kansas City, MO. Public Library (Westport Branch) witha group of 25 preschoolers. When I asked one of the teachers, "What is one of your dreams?" One of her students shouted. "She (her teacher) wants to grow up and be herself!"
